Gazza cries after losig on penalties to Germany in 1990

With England taking on Germany at Wembley in a friendly tonight. It’s a fixture that rarely dissapoints. With one of Footballs fiercest rivalries we take a look at some of the key moments seen in football by these two teams.

1. They think it’s all over (England 4-2 West Germany, 1966):

Geoff Hurst scores one of the goals that gives the commentator one of the most iconic lines in football. They think it's all Over.....It Is Now

2. Gasgoines Tears (England 1-1 Germany, 1990):

Paul Gascoigne cries as Waddles misses the penalty that sends the Germans into the World Cup final.

3. Shearer (England 1-0 Germany, 2000):

Alan Shearer rejoices with the one handed salute after his Euro 200 Goal.

4. Owens goal brace secures a convincing win over the Germans (England 5-1 Germany, 2001):

Michael Owens wonder goals seal a great 5 goal victory over the German team. With some great finishes from the baby faced player.

5. Same old story for England at the New Wembley Stadium (England 1-2 Germany, 2007):

A massive howler by the England Keeper Paul Robinson cements a loss for the three Lions at the New Wembley Stadium. Not a great start

Have one yourself. Comment below to add to the list. There are plenty more iconic moments. Will there be anymore this summer at Rio v the two teams.
